Secondary Daily Bulletin
March 27th, 2020
After a 2 hour discussion with the board of education last night, including recommendations from the North Central District Health Department and the Nebraska Commissioner of Education, Cody-Kilgore Unified Schools will not return to normal school operations for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.
We will continue to provide learning opportunities for all students and our teaching staff will be working to develop and implement a Continuity of Learning plan as required by the Nebraska Department of Education in this time of school closure. Please be on the lookout for enrichment activities and communication from your teachers starting next week. The enrichment packets will conclude at the “normal” last day of school which is May 14th.
The purpose of this closure is to keep the safety and health of our area students and patrons at the forefront. There has been a confirmed case just across the South Dakota border in Todd County. The school district along with NCDHD ask for your assistance in supporting and encouraging strict social distancing during this time of closure. This would include encouraging students to stay home, and limit time with people from outside of their household. Keeping interactions to a bare minimum will help in disrupting the exposure period and periods of contagiousness.
The school buildings are closed for the public. We will make a schedule for students to be able to come pick up their belongings and textbooks and clear out their school and gym lockers so they can work from home.
Sack lunches will continue to be provided. The pick-up times have been changed to Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 11:00 - 11:30 am MT starting on March 30th. Please contact the Cody office with any questions. 402-823-4117
