Schmit, Ravenscroft are Omaha Bound!

Cody-Kilgore freshmen Aubryanna Schmit and Lilly Ravenscroft continued their season-long success by qualifying for the NSAA State Track and Field during the D2-8 district meet in Sutherland, Nebraska. Schmit qualified in both shot put and discus by winning each event. In shot put, her winning toss of 37’10” earned her an individual District Championship. She also won an individual District Championship in discus with a throw of 124’3”.  

On the track side of competition, Ravenscroft finished as the D2-8 Runner-up in the 1600M with a time of 5:42. Rounding out the Cody-Kilgore results were CK junior Rachel Farley with a sixth-place finish in the 300M hurdles, and CK senior Tylan Blume with a sixth-place result in the 3200M.

Schmit and Ravenscroft will make the trip east for the NSAA State Track and Field Meet for the Class D Championships, May 23-24, at Omaha Burke Stadium in Omaha, Nebraska. Schmit is scheduled to throw discus at 9AM (CST) on Friday, May 23. On Saturday, May 24, Schmit will kick off CK action in the shot put at 9:30AM (CST). Ravenscroft will run the 1600M at 4:05PM (CST) on Saturday, May 24.
