Cody-Kilgore Unified Schools

Good evening, Following discussions with the North Central Health Department and assessing the current illness situation at the Elementary School, we have decided to cancel school for the remainder of this week. Classes will resume on December 18th for the Elementary School. This temporary closure will allow for a deep cleaning to mitigate the spread of illness. We request that Elementary students stay out of the buildings during this period. Middle School and High School students will continue with their regular schedule this week. We have not observed as much sickness at this level as the students are generally more conscientious about hygiene practices. Please be aware that the sewer system maintenance is in progress but won't be completed until at least Tuesday morning. MS/HS students will an E-Learning day on Tuesday. Parents, if you have any questions regarding E-Learning, feel free to reach out to Mr. Galvin. Coaches will be in touch with information about practice times. Attached are the E-Learning expectations for MS/HS students. You will not see the attachment on a text. You will have to look on the live feed or school Facebook. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate through these challenging situations.

Dear Cody School Community, Due to a sewer issue at Cody School, there will be adjustments to the school day on December 11, 2023. Please take note of the following changes: Elementary Students: Regular school day as usual. Middle School Students: No regular classes; however, students are expected to attend the Music Trip. Buses will depart from Cody at 7:30 a.m. High School Students: E-Learning Day. Please refer to the attached document for the day's expectations. Extra-Curricular Activities: Coaches for the HS will be reaching out if they have practice at the White Elephant Hall. Buses will run as usual. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to ensure a safe environment for both staff and students during this time.

Starting Monday, December 11th: Junior High Girls and Boys practice will go until 4:30 M/T/Th. On Wednesdays, it will go from 3 to 4 pm. Those who ride the Merriman bus will leave at 4:30 PM. Those who need a ride to Kilgore at 4:30 PM, please let Carrie know. HS Evening practices will continue to be 4-6 PM Monday-Thursday.
