UNL Extension is seeking youth in grades 5-8 who are interested in participating on the competitive robotics team that will meet January through mid-March. The practice schedule will be set after discussion with all interested families. Youth must be able to commit to a “warm up” meet in Alliance on February 23 and the state meet in Lincoln March 15-16. Families are responsible for travel and lodging. The 4-H program will pay for equipment and contest fees. Please email Michelle Garwood at mgarwood3@unl.edu by January 2 to be included on the roster.
The JH games against Bennett County scheduled for this afternoon have been canceled due to illness and low numbers. There will be junior high practice until 4:30 pm. Mr. Galvin will drive students to Crookston at 4:30 pm and the Merriman route students will ride the bus per usual. All buses will run as they usually do. Also, there is no small fry basketball this week due to illness. Stay Healthy! Thank you!
Esports played today. Team 1 vs Wynot and Team 2 vs Allen. Both teams won and currently are 3 and 4 in State Division 4. There are 34 teams in the division. On the left is the current State Champions, and ranked #3. On the right is the new team 2 and ranked #4. Ms Richie is the Esports coach.

A reminder to all High School Students and their parents/guardians:
Finals for those students who need to take them will be held on Thursday, December 21st.
An email regarding semester finals will be sent to parents and students on Tuesday, 12/29/23.
Students are NOT allowed to take them early, except for boys & girls basketball and cheerleaders.

Following discussions with the North Central Health Department and assessing the current illness situation at the Elementary School, we have decided to cancel school for the remainder of this week. Classes will resume on December 18th for the Elementary School. This temporary closure will allow for a deep cleaning to mitigate the spread of illness. We request that Elementary students stay out of the buildings during this period.
Middle School and High School students will continue with their regular schedule this week. We have not observed as much sickness at this level as the students are generally more conscientious about hygiene practices. Please be aware that the sewer system maintenance is in progress but won't be completed until at least Tuesday morning.
MS/HS students will an E-Learning day on Tuesday. Parents, if you have any questions regarding E-Learning, feel free to reach out to Mr. Galvin. Coaches will be in touch with information about practice times.
Attached are the E-Learning expectations for MS/HS students. You will not see the attachment on a text. You will have to look on the live feed or school Facebook.

Dear Cody School Community,
Due to a sewer issue at Cody School, there will be adjustments to the school day on December 11, 2023. Please take note of the following changes:
Elementary Students:
Regular school day as usual.
Middle School Students:
No regular classes; however, students are expected to attend the Music Trip. Buses will depart from Cody at 7:30 a.m.
High School Students:
E-Learning Day. Please refer to the attached document for the day's expectations.
Extra-Curricular Activities:
Coaches for the HS will be reaching out if they have practice at the White Elephant Hall.
Buses will run as usual.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to ensure a safe environment for both staff and students during this time.

Starting Monday, December 11th: Junior High Girls and Boys practice will go until 4:30 M/T/Th. On Wednesdays, it will go from 3 to 4 pm.
Those who ride the Merriman bus will leave at 4:30 PM. Those who need a ride to Kilgore at 4:30 PM, please let Carrie know.
HS Evening practices will continue to be 4-6 PM Monday-Thursday.
